THANK YOU MASONS OF MARTINEZ!
We want to appreciate the Martinez Masonic Lodge #41 for the amazing effort to support the Las Juntas library for our students with the Masquerade Ball held on 10/24/15! They donated over 50 hardcover fiction and nonfiction books! We also received a generous donation of $344 to purchase additional books! WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR THIS COMMUNITY SUPPORT!
Every School Day Counts!
This holiday season, the best gift you can give your child is a good education, nd the best place to get an education is in school. It's tempting to extend your vacation by a few days, but remember those days count as absences. Just a few missed days here and there, even if they are excused, can add up to too much lost learning time. So please make sure your child is in school every day, and on time. Our teachers will be teaching and our students will be learning.
CA Physical Education Requirement Accountability
Students in grades 1-5, at all four elementary schools in the Martinez Unified School District, actively engage in the California requirement of 200 minutes of Physical Education every 10 days. In order to assure compliance with this legal requirement, each site has established “Prep C” protocols for those grade levels that may not reach the 200 minute requirements due to minimum days, teacher prep, and / or assemblies. These established practices of running laps, dance & movement, and cardio-conditioning outside of the PE class are documented and verified by the site administration on a monthly basis.
